Winter Training 20/21

We are excited to welcome our players back to in-person training! It is free for all current Chelsea Soccer Club members.

If you have any problems adding your name to the spreadsheet, text or email Mario: 517-402-3139 / [email protected]

-Due to the school gyms not being available, we are using two different locations this season (details below). Peace Lutheran Church is a 10 minute drive from Chelsea, and the fairgrounds barn is located at the Chelsea Community Fair.

-We have split our teams in 8 groups, all of them containing a similar amount of players. Teams will continue to train on those days, at those times and at the same location. If you have a permanent conflict, let Mario know so we can find an alternative group to train with for you.

-To participate in a training session you MUST sign up ahead by writing your player name under your group using the spreadsheet above. This allows us to control numbers. Players not signed up for a specific training session may not participate. If your group is full, please sign up for the waiting list. If a spot opens up, we will contact you. Also, you will automatically be added to the next training session.

-Sign up lists will be sent weekly.

-We are not planning on participating in any indoor or futsal leagues due to the new order that doesn't allow contact in sports through at least February 21.

Safety protocols

-Because of the recent order released by the Governor, contact practices begin the week of February 8.

-If there is a training session before yours, please wait to let your players out of the car until the players from the previous session are out of the facility. This will avoid overcrowding the space and having kids run into one another. For the same reason, please be punctual when picking your players up, so they don’t have to wait inside.

-Sessions have a different player limit depending on the size of the facility and groups training at the same time (12, 14 or 16).

-Players will wear a face covering over their mouth and nose at all times, except when drinking water.

-Please make sure that, in the last 14 days, your player has not shown any symptoms of COVID-19, been in touch with a positive case of COVID-19, or travelled internationally.

-If your player shows any symptoms of COVID-19 or tests positive for COVID-19 after having been at a training session, please contact Mario immediately: 517-402-3139 / [email protected]. Your identity will not be disclosed.

What to bring

-A face covering
-Shin guards
-Flat soled shoes (these can be any kind of flat sport shoes such as sneakers, tennis shoes, etc; although we recommend futsal specific shoes, which are basically soccer cleats with a flat sole. Also, if there is rain or snow outside, we ask that you please bring the shoes you are going to use in a bag and put them on before we get started to prevent the courts from getting wet and slippery.)
-No need to bring a soccer ball, we will provide futsal specific balls
