more in Global Image Sports and their collaboration with Espanyol
RCD Espanyol was founded in 1900 in the city of Barcelona, Spain. It is the second biggest club in the city after FC Barcelona and the 7th most important club in Spain historically with 84 seasons in the Spanish First Division, currently known as LaLiga, where they face teams such as Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and Atlético de Madrid every season. The club prides itself in having one of the most successful and prolific academy systems in the whole country, having produced hundreds of top players throughout the years, and often claiming national trophies with their youth teams. This is thanks to a strong soccer tradition and a curriculum that has been developed and perfected for a long time now. The first team has also won the Spanish Cup (Copa del Rey) in four occasions.
This opportunity will allow the Chelsea SC to learn from one of the best clubs in Spain, a country that has grown immensely and has had incredible results in the last few years playing the best soccer in the world at the top level thanks to the great work that throughout many years club like Espanyol have done in youth soccer. Our coaches will have the opportunity to access exclusive content from the club as well as their club curriculum, which will greatly help the development of our own one.
This Summer, RCD Espanyol coaches will come to Chelsea from Barcelona to lead an Espanyol ID Camp, in which they will work with participating players focusing on the Espanyol curriculum and the Espanyol way of understanding soccer, and unique opportunity for all our members to get world-class coaching in our own town! On top of that, players selected will be invited to the RCD Espanyol National Camp. Dates and more details to come soon!
