Fall 2020 Newsletter

Hi Chelsea Soccer Club members,

I hope to find you well and enjoying your Fall season. I wanted to give you a couple of important updates.

1. Fall season

As you all know, the Fall season is well underway, and we are managing to keep it safe for everybody involved so far! Thanks to all our members for being understanding of the uniqueness of the situation and for helping us navigate it. I look forward to the last few weeks of the season!

Please continue to be diligent when following our Return to Play Protocol that can be found here:

Our players have done an amazing job of wearing masks during practices and games so far. I really appreciate how easy they are making this transition for us and I encourage them to keep this up.

2. Winter season

It remains to be seen how our Winter season will be affected by the current situation, but our goal is to continue to provide our players with our futsal programs during the winter month. I believe that once indoor school sports start, we’ll have a better idea of what adjustments need to be made to our Winter season. As always, we encourage all our members to participate in our Winter season but understand that some will have other commitments with other sports and won’t be available as often.

Typically, we take the month of November off and run some sessions after Thanksgiving and before Christmas break, then resume in January and continue through early March. Our teams typically have one event per week, with older teams sometimes having two. The schedules are not consistent (i.e. not always the same day of the week at the same time) because we have to work around all the school activities taking place in the gyms, but we always do our best to create convenient schedules.

We will plan on taking November off after the Fall season is over, and I will be sure to keep our members updated. We hope to be able to participate in some Winter leagues (these come at an additional cost for players that with to play), but similarly to training, we will have to wait a little longer and see.

As always, if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to let me know.

Thank you and take care!
