Winter Season

What is futsal?

Futsal is the official 5v5 version of indoor soccer regulated by FIFA. It’s played on a hard court without walls, with a smaller, low-bounce ball. This sport is proven to be the best possible tool for soccer technical development. The surface, ball, and rules create an emphasis on improvisation, creativity, and technique as well as ball control and passing in small spaces. It provides much more touches on the ball than any other soccer activity and it forces players to make decisions constantly. Countries such as Brazil, Argentina or Spain that have been extremely successful in international soccer have played futsal for many years, and now a lot of other countries and a lot clubs in the US and outside the US are finally giving it the importance it deserves. We are very fortunate to be partnered with Futsal Factory Academy, one of the leading futsal organizations in the state and the country. This partnership helps us develop our program the right way thanks to their demonstrated experience and the proven curriculum that all their competitive Academy teams follow, apart from providing additional futsal opportunities for our players. Types of futsal events

There are three types of events we do during the Winter season, they are all included in your club fees, and all events will be added to your TeamSnap page once they are scheduled. The amount of events varies depending on the age of the team, but for the most part they have something once a week throughout the season:

-Futsal practices: your team will be training alone or together with another team (depending on numbers).

-Drop ins: just show up and play futsal for as long as you want while we are there.

-3v3 tournaments: you can register for free, get assigned to a team and a color, and you just have to show up in your color and play your schedule.

What to bring

To all the futsal events, please bring shin guards, water and flat soled shoes. These can be any kind of flat sport shoes such as sneakers, tennis shoes, etc; although we recommend futsal specific shoes, which are basically soccer cleats with a flat sole. Also, if there is rain or snow outside, we ask that you please bring the shoes you are going to use in a bag and put them on before we get started to prevent the courts from getting wet and slippery. You don't need to bring your soccer ball as we will be providing futsal specific balls for all events.

Winter leagues

We will be offering the opportunity to teams to participate in a Winter league. There are different options (indoor soccer, futsal, even 11v11 soccer) and our Director of Coaching will be in touch with coaches and managers to make a recommendation for each team, so they can make a headcount. This is not included in the club fees and therefore completely optional, and the total cost of participating in the league plus the cost of the coaching fees will be split between the participants. Typically, teams U10 and younger don't take part on this, but we are open to it if enough players want to do it.
